#MakeArtMondays | Jamaica’s National Hero Bookmark

This week’s craft pays homage to those who advocated and fought for our rights. We commemorate Jamaica’s National Hero’s by making bookmarks. Having a bookmark that reminds you of the power and freedom gained through educating one’s self is empowering in itself.

#MakeArtMondays | Desk Organizer

Our #MakeArtMonday craft is dedicated to Back-to-school distance learning. Here, we’ve created a desk organizer using popsicle sticks and recyclable material such as tissue paper rolls for keeping your pencils, pens or highlighters in order and close by your work station. Do enjoy!

#MakeArtMondays | Tablet Holder

We’re back with another #MakeArtMondays craft, Back-to-school edition!

Our #MakeArtMonday craft is dedicated to Back-to-school distance learning. Distance learning is now in full effect and with having to adapt to this “new normal” of learning virtually, we all would appreciate anything that can help to make the process easier however small that thing is. Here, we’ve created a holder for either a phone or tablet, that your child may be using during online classes and it was created using simple materials. Do enjoy!

Virtual Summer Workshop Meet the Team

Hello everyone. Meet the team behind the Virtual Summer Workshop.
Our annual summer workshop was unfortunately affected, as many industries have been by Covid-19. In an effort to continue to give back to the community especially those who support and look forward to our yearly engagements, we decided to recreate our summer workshop and provide a virtual experience in light of the pandemic.
We value the efforts of providing you with an experience that was certainly incomparable to any we’ve ever had as well as the efforts of those that participated. We enjoyed each tutorial that we made and we hope that you had as much fun as we did in completing each project.

From all of us at National Museum West and National Gallery West, we hope that you continue to strive to reach your ultimate creatively unique self.

We thank you for your involvement and we hope to see you again next year.

#MakeArtMondays | String Puppet

Today’s #MakeArtMondays we’re featuring a string puppet. One great thing about making tissue paper roll puppets is that you’re showing your children how easy it is to recycle and reuse packaging: empty tissue paper rolls create the bodies of these DIY puppets.
